OXO Good Grips Grout Brush
OXO Good Grips Grout Brush
Keep your bathroom spotless with the Oxo Good Grips Grout Brush. Its narrow rows of bristles are ideal for cleaning the grout between tiles as well as medicine cabinet and shower door tracks. Use it to scrub bath fixtures and behind sink faucets. A broad, soft handle keeps your hands comfortable while you keep your home clean.

This grout brush is a perfect companion to tiled countertops, floors, walls, and shower stalls. It attacks grime with two types of bristles, and its pointed head accesses corners and other hard-to-reach spots with ease. When your chores are through, hang this tool to let it dry, thanks to an oversize opening in the handle. The Good Grips line features durable, nonslip flexible handles on every product. Ergonomically designed to fit the palm comfortably and softly, the pressure-absorbing processed rubber handle puts less tension on the hands, while providing an outstanding grip. Made from the same material as dishwasher gaskets are constructed of, the handles are slip-proof, wet or dry, as well as dishwasher-safe. Good Grips products are moderately priced and have won the Tylenol/Arthritis Foundation Design Award. --Laurie Notaro

My very bad day today yielded something not too bad
My very bad day today yielded something not too bad
My kitchen floor looks pretty bad here, but that's because we stripped off all of the linoleum but haven't been able to decide how we want to finish it. Give it a good sanding, maybe stain it and then apply a clear sealer? Or paint it? Can't decide. Anyway, it's still just raw pine with nothing to keep the dirt and grime off it, and in this case THE GLUE from sinking into the wood fibers. I had to keep the dog from walking through the glue on the floor—which I wasn't very successful at doing—and work fast with the scrub brush and hot water to get all the glue up before it dried. This photo was taken after I wiped up the glue splatters, washed it down with warm water and then scrubbed it a bit with the scrub brush. I didn't think to shoot a photo of the horrible mess that the Elmer's made ON the floor, but you can just imagine. The bottle was small but also probably three-quarters full. Also I didn't get a shot of the glue that was all over the tops and in between the toes of my right foot and all over the strap of my sandal; that was an awful mess! At least I got part of my kitchen floor cleaned really well and now I'm going to wash the rest of it tomorrow. And press Gary for a decision soon on how we'll be finishing it. I'm ready to not have to worry about splattering cooking grease and trying to guard it from stains.

I noticed the same ceramic tile at the blue house is much dirtier than mine. I've unfortunately found the best way to clean the floors is weekly with a small bucket, a scrub brush, soft scrub with bleach and a rag to wipe clean. The mop just seemed to push the dirt further into the grout. Always use GRAY grout with these tiles, learn from my errors! No house flipping and no white grout!
