__Need for the Contest__: Since last few years students are falling behind in math. It is becoming a concern for parents and teachers. Recent article in Globe and Mail is indicating that Canada has dropped out of the top 10 in international math education standings, a decline that is raising alarms about the country’s future prosperity. Canada placed 13th overall in mathematics, down three spots from 2009 and six spots from 2006, in the latest results from the OECD’s Program for International Student Assessment, the highly anticipated survey conducted every three years and which measures how 15-year-olds around the world are doing in math, reading and science. Canada ranked behind many Asian economies, including Singapore, Korea and Japan, as well as countries such as Switzerland, Estonia and Finland.

There is a need to encourage students to practice more maths and to encourage parents to motivate their kids towards math practice. **This contest will bring awareness in the parents to track the progress of their children two times a year and kids will be encouraged to practice and learn more math.**
