When I ran trough some old pictures, I was happy to see the car again which would nowadays be called a streetracer. The picture was dated on the back: 1981. After scanning the picture it turned out to be a strange colour of orange. Luckely I could remove this aging colour with Elements. Now some technical facts about this car: It was originally built as an NSU 1200 TT, but I transformed to an TTS with the extra aluminium front oilcooler. The flywheel was prepaired by my father (he reduced the weight by almost 50 %). A 312 degrees camshaft, special pistons, enlarged valves and substitutional 40 mm Webers (2x and enlarged to 42 mm), a Thyristor Ignition from an RO 80 and a spaghetti exhaust system (4 in one pipes) gave the engine about 130 HP. Combined with the bodyweight just under 600 Kg it was a real killer those days. The gasfilled shockabsorbers and a selfmade rear stabilizer combined with the rearwheel drive made it almost impossible to loose the car in fast curves. It would drift equally on the front and rearwheels, controlled with the gastrottle. Believe me, I needed the special Corbeaux Highseats with the 4 point seatbelts! Talking about G-forces....... I once won a race with a motorbike on a curved road! I met the driver years later and he still wasn't over it. Seeing this car again I remember that all those years later, I never experienced that feeling again I had, beeing pushed back in my seat when accelerating. It accelerated faster than a Porsche those days. I used this car on the road, but I drove a simular car on the circuits: Oval racing, slalom and rally racing, I enjoyed it all. I'm still a little bit sad that I sold the cars after 5 years streetracing for a lot of money when I needed it....... I know it's quite a story, but when memories start bubbling up...

"Weight Update" Another view. Last month I was not sure I could see that much of a change, but this month I sure can. The ball gut has disappeared, and due to how fast I am loosing weight, I have excess skin now, which is causing the remaining fat to sag a bit. I am not sure how I feel about that yet. With clothes on it looks OK. Hey, look! I have an Adam's Apple again! Someone at work today said they really noticed the change in my face. Of course that may have something to do with the fact I am still wearing chef clothes for a 340 pound person. The fat loss in by body is hidden at work by way oversized chef clothes I now refer to as "clown pants". I am holding out as long as I can to buy new chef stuff. Looking at BMI, that ever so controversial way of measuring weight, at 340 I was 46.1 or "morbidly obese". Now I am 35.6, or just over the line for "clinically obese". If I can drop 4 more pounds I will be plain ol' obese. Get to 227, and I will fall into the "overweight" category. Hmmm...I don't know if I can actually picture that.
