Fran Decker

Fran's tropical paintings capture the flavor of the Florida Keys.  Her colorful acrylic paintings can be found at SoDu Gallery on Duval in Key West.   Although she is best known for her depictions of Key West’s landmarks and conch houses, the sea and nature are prime inspirations for Fran’s artwork.

Fran Decker has lived in the fabulous Florida Keys since 1988.  Fran worked in environmental biology and was the volunteer coordinator for The Nature Conservancy and The Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary prior to pursuing a full time career as an artist.  Fran has painted since her teens and has studied under various Keys artists.  She is a graduate of Wellesley College.

Fran is an avid sailor and diver, and spent years sailing her Cheoy Lee 35’ sloop between Boston and South America.  She holds a U.S.C.G. 100 ton license and she and her husband operate a charter sailing business, Double Decker Charters, out of the historic Key West Bight.
