After Fight Number One.
After Fight Number One.
The first fight of the game, in which a USA and Phantom player went at it. They left behind a larg pile of gloves and sticks and helmets, knocking the net off its moorings in the process.

Seeing a live fight at a hockey game is amazing. All the kids there were thrilled and banging on the glass; both teams were banging their sticks against the boards.

When play started up again, the USA goalie went behind his net to handle the puck. A Phantoms player purposely checked him -- hard -- a serious no-no in hockey. The nearest USA player jumped on the offender and pummeled him to the ice. Very satisfying; the guy who checked the USA goalie was given a game misconduct... as was the coach of the Phantoms.

The goalie was alright after the hit; while the fight raged in the corner, he lay flat on the ice (pulling a Ribeiro, if y'all Montreal fans know what I mean), but as soon as the fight was broken up, he climbed to his feet. Phantoms fans boed this; USA fans cheered then booed as the guy who checked him was thrown out of the game.
Quickly becoming my classic hockey shot. I just love shooting goalies. Manitoba Moose on a visit to the Admirals earlier this month. No Blake, but I got a good Moose shot! I'd tell you who he is but my house is kind of in disarray right now and I don't know where my guide is and I just don't have the ambition to look it up at the moment. Didn't take many shots at the game since I got seats alittle bit too low. Figured N would be a good height - not sure they start seats at the letter A...must go for R or S next time. Just a wee bit higher and I could shoot over the glass. But, it's not all bad...I actually went to a game and concentrated totally on the game. That's sweet too. Home team won. Wooo Whooo (and the crowd goes wild)! For your viewing pleasure the Flyers take on the dreaded awful ones tonight on VS.
