It must have been the photos of Cartier or Vacheron Constantin's latest collections I saw on the newspaper that inspired me to imitate the technique by taking a close-up of something precious with myself in the background, out of focus. The problem is the gold coin reflects my camera too well. 200 photos later and after using up the entire memory card, this is the best one already, but you can still 'see' a black patch from the right side of the coin, which is my black-body camera. Question: How do the professionals prevent the reflection when they take photos of gold and silver coins???? Best when viewed in large format, for obvious reasons! (click on All Sizes above.) (And if you're wondering, the gold coin is going back to my mom's safety deposit box tomorrow. I guess some people spend money on electronics, I wasted mine on a gold coin!)
