T189522011week37: "Texture overlay". The unique Chattri War memorial on Patcham Down commemorates all Indian servicemen who fought in the First World War and particularly the 53 Hindu and Sikh soldiers who died in Brighton hospitals (the graves of Indian Muslim soldiers who died in Brighton are in Brookwood Military Cemetery, Surrey). The Chattri is situated high up on the Sussex Downs on the spot where their bodies were cremated. The inscription is in Hindi and Punjabi on one side and in English on the other. It reads: "To the memory of all Indian soldiers who gave their lives for their King-Emperor in the Great War, this monument, erected on the site of the funeral pyre where Hindus and Sikhs who died in hospital at Brighton passed through the fire, is in grateful admiration and brotherly affection dedicated". The Chattri was unveiled in 1921. Next to it stands the Cremation Memorial erected by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission in 2010 inscribed with the names of the dead. An annual service of remembrance is held every June.
Homing Overlay Experiment
Homing Overlay Experiment
Homing Overlay Experiment Test Vehicle Lockheed built this unflown antiballistic missile (ABM) test vehicle for the U.S. Army’s Homing Overlay Experiment (HOE). Earlier U.S. ABMs were designed to destroy an enemy missile by detonating a nuclear or conventional warhead. The HOE vehicle destroyed it by physical impact, a concept known as “hit-to-kill.” After the vehicle separated from its booster, its guidance system identified and locked on to the incoming missile and directed the vehicle to strike the missile. On the final HOE test in 1984, a vehicle intercepted a dummy warhead at an altitude of over 160 kilometers (100 miles) -- the first successful demonstration of hit-to-kill technology in space. The United States now has much smaller hit-to-kill vehicles, such as those on the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 ABM, used in Operation Iraqi Freedom, and on the Ground-Based Interceptor ABM, deployed beginning in 2004.

Kershaw Ram Knife with Partially Serrated Blade and G-10 Overlay Handle and patent pending "Hawk Lock"
Blade Magazine honored the R.A.M. as 2007's Most Innovative American Design. Since then, we've added more R.A.M. models, including models with partially serrated blades, as well as our new Tungsten DLC-coated matte black versions. All R.A.M. (Restraint Articulated Mechanism) models open with the Flipper ambidextrous manual opening system or the built-in thumb studs. Yet when a knife is this bold, safety is a key consideration. That's where the R.A.M.'s Hawk-Lock comes in. The patent-pending Hawk-Lock keeps the R.A.M.'s blade safely locked into position for use, and releases easily for closing. Choose the original R.A.M.s for satin-finished Sandvik 14C28N stainless-steel blades plus a black anodized handle with secure grip G-10 overlays. They feature 14C28N stainless-steel blades with the addition of wear-resistant Tungsten DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating for extra performance. All R.A.M.s feature the patent-pending Hawk-Lock for incredible security and simplicity of operation. R.A.M.s open easily using the ambidextrous Flipper or built-in thumb studs. Once the blade is open, the Hawk-Lock automatically locks it into position. When you're ready to close the blade, pull the Hawk-Lock slider back toward the knife butt and fold the blade in. Simplicity itself.
