100 Plus Corridor Women Who Care is a new organization of women interested in supporting our local community in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Corridor. We come from all walks of life and different financial backgrounds. As individuals we feel that it is difficult to make a very large impact, but as a group we believe we have the ability to contribute to the growth of our community in ways that we never before thought possible.

2/16 Meeting Minutes

Thanks to everyone who attended the 2012 first quarter meeting for 100+ Corridor Women Who Care meeting at the Elmcrest Country Club! We had a great meeting and heard presentations from three outstanding members:

·         Monica Vernon – “Women Build” of Habitat for Humanity

·        Linda Mattes – Child Protection Center (St. Luke’s)

·         Kathy Green/Catherine Basile – Metro High School Achievement Fund

Following a very difficult vote, it was announced that the ChildProtection Center is the recipient of this quarter’s contributions. Therefore, if you were not in attendance last night or did not have your checkbook, please send your check as soon as possible to:

Child Protection Center

Attn: Julie Kelly

1095 N. Center Point Road

Hiawatha, Iowa  52233

Please write “100+ Women donation” on the subject line.

We are pleased that we currently have 112 members registered, so we are hopeful that we can collect over $10,000 for the Child Protection Center. In the next week, we will send out a news release announcing our collective gift, so it is important to send in your contribution as soon as possible, so that we can announce the final amount. As a reminder, if your employer offers a matching gift program, please consider doubling your gift by submitting the appropriate paperwork.

Several of you asked about the contact information for the other two organizations that were represented in case you wanted to send them a contribution as well. Here is the contact information for both:
