How does it work? We start off with a (5) five micron pre-filter which removes particulate and sediment from the water before it arrives in the main tank. The water then travels through our multi-stage filter which is composed of the highest quality coconut shell carbon available on the market today. Our filtration process removes or reduces harmful chemicals and by-products such as chlorine, chloramine, pesticides, VOC's, pharmaceutical residual, and much more. * The Water Dove is made in the USA. How does the optional Hydro-magnet work? When the water passes through the magnetic field it changes the electrical charge of the ions in the hard water so that the mineral cannot form lime scale which creates build-up on your plumbing and fixtures. This reduction in build-up will improve performance and extend the life of your appliances. Why the Water Dove? High quality, amazing warranty, a 90 day money back guarantee, a company name synonymous with quality and craftsmanship; these are just a few of the reasons why the Chanson whole house water filters are a perfect match for your household. The Chanson Water Dove whole house filter is manufactured with flawless structural tanks and top of the line bypass valves. Our filters use the highest grade coconut shell carbon in the world and our filters have amazingly long life with minimal maintenance. Five years or 700,000-1,000,000 gallons ensure that you will be enjoying amazingly refreshing, chemical free water for years to come. Chanson Water offers a 10 year warranty on all of our Water Dove filters and softeners so you can buy with confidence knowing Chanson stands behind every machine we sell. Before and After
Since the dog days of Summer seem to be jumping unexpectedly out of some hidden lair to bite us in the ass, the Mrs. and I (I like saying "the Mrs.") decided to break down and install AC window units for the sake of a bit of sleep comfort and to prevent the poor pooch from having brain bake while we humans go out into the world to earn dog food buying green paper things. So, after a bit of medium and heavy lifting we find our hero, (that'd be me) inspecting the filters on each of the appliances in question, only to find a moderate amount of dust from the season before. "No problem, in just a jif or 2 we'll have cool dry air pumping into our environs," I thought to myself. But then, on closer inspection, what should I see on the coils beyond the filter housings? Filth I tell you, pure filth. The unit in the living room window was acquired 2nd hand from a work acquaintance who'd installed whole house air conditioning (must be nice) and gave us this pretty decent unit for a more than fair deal, or so I thought. Last year, we noticed a slight oder when running it, but time and a general appreciation for not sweating while sitting still to watch a movie or such did not allow us to investigate. This year I investigate to find a crusty amalgam of nicotine, dust, and cat hair crusted onto the entire evaporator coil. Filth, pure filth. A number of fins were also bent so that all in all, one might wonder how any air could make it through to be cooled. Well, after some diligent toothbrush and water work mixed with lots of patience I managed to remove most of the filth and bend the heat sync fins back to a more normal position. Much better. The smaller unit in the sleeping quarters was filthy too, but just dust and no crust so a quick vac treatment with the gentle brush attachment was all the Dr. ordered. Moral of the story. Inspect and clean your coils on a regular basis. Otherwise you will be asking too much of your air conditioner and paying too much to you electric company, not to mention increasing your carbon footprint to Shaq size for no reason at all.

Numerical simulation of geologic carbon sequestration The ability to simulate CO2 flow and transport in the deep subsurface formations is critical for assessing injectivity, capacity, trapping mechanisms, brine displacement, impacts, and long-term fate of injected CO2. Dr. Doughty’s research involves developing improved models of CO2 trapping mechanisms, incorporating these into the LBNL simulator TOUGH2, and carrying out TOUGH2 simulations of injection. Dr. Doughty’s work is used in the design of pilot-scale injection projects, for interpreting observations from pilot studies, for risk assessment of geologic carbon sequestration projects, and for improving understanding of geologic sequestration processes and impacts. credit: Lawrence Berkeley Nat'l Lab - Roy Kaltschmidt, photographer XBD200906-00202-01.TIF
