ABOUT ZICO
ZICO productsOur Founder, Mark Rampolla, fell in love with coconut water as a Peace Corps volunteer in Central America. An avid athlete, Mark loved drinking fresh coconut water after running, hiking or hanging out at the beach. In 2004 he left a fast-track corporate career to pursue his dream of bringing the healthy, natural benefits of coconut water to consumers across the world.
As a company, we’re on a mission to tell the world that Mother Nature made a better sports drink: ZICO Pure Premium Coconut Water. We’re athletes. We drink ZICO daily (lots of it!), know it works, and want to help others make the switch to ZICO too. We also think coconut water can become an important alternative agricultural product for the developing world and are committed to bringing you ZICO in a socially and environmentally responsible and sustainable way.

Ahh, the Sweet Stuff
Ahh, the Sweet Stuff
Dessert Day One: Chocolate Macaroon, Vanilla Macaroon, Caramel Macaroon, Brownie Bite with Maple Frosting Ohhhhh, this is what I've been waiting for - dessert!! Unfortunately, the macaroons simply aren't that photogenic. Clearly they are a scoop and plop kind of product. Which is okay by me as long as they taste delicious. I enjoyed the vanilla macaroon best because it was simple. Coconutty goodness. The chocolate macaroon was good. It would satisfy by sweet tooth in a pinch. The caramel macaroon, however, was unpalatable to me. I thought it tasted like stinky cheese. Eeew! It must be the lucuma (whatever that is) that gave it that distinctive taste. The brownie bite was dense and moist, like a flourless chocolate cake. Decadent and delicious. I didn't pick up much maple flavor from the frosting, but it did like the way it looked. Overall, I liked the vanilla macaroon and the brownie bite the best. And I am so full. I was worried that the raw food wouldn't be filling but I certainly don't feel deprived. Maybe because there is so much fat and fiber in the food. I'm looking forward to tomorrow! Chocolate Macaroon Ingredients: coconut, cacao powder, maple syrup, coconut butter, vanilla extract, sea salt Calories: 32 per macaroon Vanilla Macaroon Ingredients: coconut, brazil nut pulp, maple syrup, coconut butter, vanilla extract Calories: 32 per macaroon Caramel Macaroon Ingredients: coconut, lucuma, agave nectar, coconut butter, vanilla extract, sea salt Calories: 32 per macaroon Brownie Bite Ingredients: pecans, almond butter, agave nectar, cacao powder, sea salt Maple Frosting Ingredients: cashews, vanilla extract, agave nectar, coconut, water and I'm assuming there's some maple syrup in there even though the ingredients didn't list it Calories: 227 Holy Schnikes! That's alotta calories for that sliver of brownie!
Strawberry Crunch Cereal and Brazil Nut Milk
Strawberry Crunch Cereal and Brazil Nut Milk
Day 1 Breakfast. Half the package of cereal and half the bottle of milk. Brazil Nut Milk: water, brazil nuts, vanilla extract, sea salt, stevia powder (124 calories/bottle) Strawberry Crunch Ingredients: buckwheat, vanilla, stevia, sea salt, strawberries, honey (325 calories/package) 225 calories for breakfast, not including my regular mug of (non-raw) coffee with cream and sugar. I actually couldn't fit half the bottle of milk in the bowl, so I drank a little more with lunch. Since the milk was sweetened and the cereal was sweet, the milk/cereal combo was way too sweet for me. And it was crazy filling. It took me an hour to get through it. I had no morning snacks and went on to have lunch even though I wasn't quite hungry yet. The milk by itself is tasty. Tastes nutty like soymilk. The texture is not completely smooth (it's made by soaking nuts in water, pureeing, then straining), but it doesn't bother me. I had 24 oz of water and 12 oz of tea after breakfast, through the morning.
