"New Years Resolution #2" Now that I have lost 128 pounds, I need to keep it off. So my resolution is to continue to eat healthy, and maintain the weight loss. In reality I would not mind, gettting below 200, even if it is 199. I weigh myself weekly and for the last two months it has been 212 every single week. Yesterday I weighed myself and it was two pounds less. I suspect it may have to do with all the hours spent at work last week, so I am not counting on that to hold true long term. I am OK at 212. I have given thought to maybe a gym or something, but I work six days a week, sometimes for a lot more than 8 hours a day, and I am just too tired to think about a workout. When I go in to work at 8 or 9:00 a.m., and get home 12 hours later, because there was a party or an event, the very last thing on my mind is 45 minutes on an elliptical machine. I need to process this one a bit more, but the definite resolution is to stay at 212, or less. Not more!

The funny thing about losing a lot of weight is that I have now become obsessed with the weight loss. When I started down the path of trying to exercise regularly I set a goal to lose about 35 lbs. In the two years since I have started I've lost more than double that and developed a very interesting case of OCD about gaining weight again. Now, I'm not talking about anything that would require anything more than the occasional reality check, but it is still there. I see that the scale ticked up three or four pounds and I will make sure to take on an extra 15 minutes to the next few workouts and trim back the portions for the week. The oddest thing is that I have gotten to a point where I am literally in better shape than at any point in my life and now I know that if I slack off I'll take a step back. So the scale lurks in the bathroom.
