Healthy eating in Turkey! Muesli, which we have for breakfast with sut (milk), and then for lunch we have salad made with fresh produce from the local Saturday market, including salata (lettuce), domates (tomato), havuc (carrot), salatal?k (cuumber), and red cabbage (which I don't know in Turkish). On the side, we have elma (apple), peynir (cheese), and muz (banana). Yay fiber! The cheese is a sharp salty sheep's cheese, and tastes like a combination of string cheese and feta with a hint of blue cheese. It's quite unique, but very delicious with the apples and bananas which are less sweet than the ones we get in the US. Oh, like our tablecloth btw? It's an old sheet! When you have limited funds and access to household goods, you learn to improvise. :)
