We're so happy you're here. In order to help you transition to your new environment as a new first-year student, a first-year student with some college experience, a transfer student, or a Dix scholar, we are happy to share this Spring 2025 Resource guide for you. Simmons Orientation leaders put all of the information they found useful when they came to Simmons and put it in one place! SPRING 2025 ORIENTATION EVENTS
Pre-Semester Information Sessions:
Information Sessions: Do you have questions about health records, academic accommodations, dining services, or our Reef Center, or just want to learn more before you arrive? We are offering the following information sessions. Our campus partners will give an overview of their areas and be ready to answer any questions you may have. Students, parents, and guardians are welcome to attend. If you can't make a session, reach out to orientation@simmons.edu and we'll get you in touch! Our Orientation Leader Lizeth will be on hand to talk about what it's like to be a transfer student at Simmons and be ready to answer any questions you might have. We'll also have a chance to talk about what Campus Life looks like at Simmons!
Spring Orientation Schedule:
Sunday, Jan. 19th, 2:30–4pm: Campus Scavenger Hunt + Pizza!
Take a guided tour to familiarize yourself with campus essentials, from academic buildings to student life hotspots. We will also have the chance to look for your classes :)
Location: Academic Campus (Common Grounds in the Main College Building).
Wednesday, Jan. 22nd, 3:30-5pm: Ice Cream Social + Campus Resource Showcase
Your official welcome to Simmons! Enjoy ice cream and connect with resources like tutoring, counseling, & student organizations. You will also receive a Simmons Welcome Bag!
Location: C-520 (5th floor of the School of Management Building).
Thursday, Jan. 23th (6pm): Trip to View Boston with OL Lizeth!
Join OL Lizeth as you head over to an observation deck for a view you won’t forget. Tickets and T-passes are covered by the CLE, but we’d like you to RSVP for this event.
Meet-up Location: Outside Bartol Hall, Residential Campus
Friday, Jan. 31st, noon: Come make Vision Boards with former transfer students!
Meet us in the CLE! Bring your questions and creativity! You'll get to connect with last year's transfer students while creating vision boards to map out your short-term and long-term goals. Lunch will be provided!

Favorite spot on campus: When the weather is nice, I love sitting in the adirondack chairs in the academic quad! In the winter, the 5th floor of School of Management is really cozy.

Offers resources such as community clothing rack and resource room, food access, on and off-campus housing access, SOS emergency fund, student assistance program, and violence prevention and support.
Also houses the commuter student/Dix scholar lounge and is located behind the Fens dining hall in A-075.

Wellness Ambassadors are a dynamic group of students who are passionate about an inclusive and comprehensive approach to wellbeing for the Simmons community, includiing undergraduate, graduate, residential, commuter, and online students.
Simmons Academic Mentors
Simmons Academic Mentors (or SAMS) are current Simmons students who assist first-year students with academic acclimation to Simmons University. In this role, SAMs provide peer academic support to first year students during their first year at Simmons University.
