Though very similar sights, the left is imbued with greenery, detail, and depth. Fabrics were layered and stitched through a process called applique. Different textures combined with hand-sewn embroidery demonstrate the amount of care taken to craft each scene. Celestine could have been recreating a specific scene from her hometown, or was perhaps reimagining her present city as a place untainted by hardship.
