Royal High School's Ronald Reagan Citizen Scholar Institute Diploma Seal Program (typically referred to as CSI or The CSI Program) is a civic engagement and service learning program open to students in grades 9-12 at RHS. Participants have the freedom to decide the topic and focus area they are the most passionate about serving. Whether it is fundraising to support local homeless shelters, creating programs to stock supplies for animal rescues, improving inclusion and well-being on our campus, or creating care packages for cancer patients - Royal students have the opportunity to help through CSI. Students may create individual or group projects (no larger than 3-4 members). Participation is limited to students who attend Royal.

Students join online platforms to stay connected, informed, and organized through the work (Remind app, Google Classroom)
Students spend the year implementing their projects (most projects take from fall to spring to complete). The deadline to finish each project is in April (specific date varies from year to year).
Upon project completion, students prepare (per a specific format provided to them) a final presentation of their work to be showcased at the annual RHS Senior Recognition Night held at the end of the year at The Reagan Library. Preparation for this step begins at the start of May and includes a presentation at Royal's PTSA meeting in the CSI Room. (Underclassmen who participate fully in the program present in the year that they completed all program requirements, but do not receive their diploma seal and challenge coin until their graduation year.)
Guidance and support are provided by the CSI Advisory Team through initial project planning, periodic check-ins (formal and informal), project attendance/observation, and prep for the final presentation. While this is your project, you are not alone! Help is always available as you navigate this process.
