VARIS PRIVACY POLICY

This policy explains what information VARIS collects, how it's used, and how you can access, export, or delete it.
WHAT WE COLLECT
Account Information
- Your email address
- If you sign in with Apple, you may choose to share a private relay email instead of your real one — this works the same as a normal email for your account
Health & Fitness Data
This is the core purpose of the app, and it's sensitive data we take seriously:
- Workout logs (exercises, sets, reps, weight, duration)
- RPE (Rate of Perceived Exertion) values you log
- Bodyweight entries
- Personal records and training history
- Workout templates and training cycles you create
Purchase & Subscription Data
- Your subscription tier (Free or Varis Meno) and status
- This is managed through RevenueCat, our subscription management provider — we do not directly process or store your payment card details ourselves; that's handled by Apple's App Store or Google Play
Photos (Optional)
VARIS requests photo-related permissions in two separate, specific situations. Both are optional — you can decline either or both and still use every other part of the app.
- Adding a photo to a shareable card: if you choose to add a photo when creating a shareable workout card, VARIS requests access to your camera and/or photo library to let you select or take that photo. It's processed entirely on your device to apply visual effects and is never uploaded to our servers or any third party.
- Saving a card to your Photos library: if you choose to save a finished card, VARIS requests a separate, write-only permission to add that single image to your photo library. This permission cannot be used to read, browse, or access any other photos on your device — it can only add the image you've generated.
- A photo you've added or created only leaves your device if you personally choose to share or save the finished card — that action, and where it goes from there (for example, posting it to Instagram), is entirely your choice and outside VARIS's control once it happens.
- Each of these permissions is requested only at the moment you use the relevant feature, and only if you use the share card feature at all.
WHERE YOUR DATA GOES
- Supabase — our database and authentication provider, hosts your account and fitness data
- RevenueCat — manages subscription status and purchase records
- Apple / Google — process actual payment transactions; we never see your card details
- Photos you add to or save from share cards go nowhere by default — they're processed and stored on-device only, and only leave your device if you personally choose to share or save the finished card
We do not use any analytics or crash-reporting services, and we do not sell your data to advertisers or any third party.
YOUR RIGHTS
Access & Export: VARIS includes a built-in data export feature — you can export your templates, workouts, and cycles at any time from within the app.
Deletion: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time:
- In the app: Settings → Delete Account
- On the web (if you don't have access to the app): https://sites.google.com/sightiris.studio/varis-account-delete
When you delete your account, your data is removed promptly. If you have an active subscription, deleting your VARIS account does not automatically cancel billing — you'll need to cancel separately through the App Store or Google Play to stop future charges.
DATA RETENTION
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, your data is permanently removed from our systems.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when changes are made.
