Lane Siekman "A Voice for Hoosier Families"

Lane Siekman is a strong advocate for those who need a voice in our society. His straightforward manner mixes progressive action with Hoosier common sense values. Lane is a fifth generation resident of tiny Ohio County, Indiana and his lifelong ties to Indiana gives him insight into the challenges facing Sixth District residents, farmers, and small businesses.
After graduating from Rising Sun High School and working for a few years, Lane had an opportunity to go to college and attended Ball State University and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in finance and economics. After working in the banking industry in Vevay, Indiana. Lane later went on to receive his law degree from Indiana University in 1990. He completed the University of Oklahoma Economic Development Course in 2010.
After law school, Lane returned to Rising Sun and opened his own law practice. He also works in economic development and is an adjunct instructor at Ivy Tech Community College. He has served in local government as a City Attorney and County Council attorney .

An active part of his community, Lane is the past president of the Rotary Club, secretary of the Southeastern Indiana Regional Growth Alliance, a member of the Southeastern Indiana Regional Plan Commission, President of the Ohio County Historical Society, and the Executive Director of the Ohio County Economic Development Corporation. He is also a Master Mason and the secretary of Rising Sun Lodge #6. Lane has served on the board of directors for the Dearborn County Hospital Foundation, Rising Sun Main Street, and many other boards and organizations.
"FAMILY COMES FIRST"
Lane met his wife, Robin Bingham while they both were attending Ball State University. Robin is a neonatal nurse in the Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Children's' Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Married since 1982, Lane and Robin have three children. The oldest, Allison and Brenden, are fraternal twins. Allison is a librarian living in Fortville, Indiana and Brenden is currently serving on active duty in the United States Army. Caroline, their youngest, attends Ivy Tech. He is also a proud Grandfather with grandson Flynn born in 2016.
The family resides in Ohio County and attends the First United Church of Christ, where Lane serves as a lay speaker, and Consistory Board President.
