Head Boys and Head Girls
Our Head Pupils take on many important leadership roles around the school. They take visitors on tours, support the headteacher with decisions about the running of the school and welcome the children into Whole School Assembly each week, among other tasks.
The pupils had to apply for their positions in writing, before being subjected to a rigorous formal interview process.
House Captains
Our House Captains' role is to lead their fellow students from their respective houses. They lead and manage the termly token counting event, informing the headteacher of how many points their house has earned that term. They also play a pivotal role in the running of Sports Day.

Ambassadors
Our ambassadors are responsible for supporting the Senior Leadership Team with the management and running of the Library. They help to decide which books are purchased, ensure that the Library is kept in great condition and share their ideas about making reading enjoyable at our school. Our ambassadors also work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to monitor and improve behaviour across the school.

School Council
Our School Council is made up of 14 children, with one representative coming from each of our classes. The children come together to make decisions about how we can improve our school. Their successful projects include the building of a new climbing frame, the selection of our school charity, and the reviewing of the dinner menu.
Each pupil stood up in their class and made a speech about why they should be elected as the class representative. Their class mates then voted for their chosen candidate.
Eco Council
Our Eco Councillors are responsible for all thing eco at Sidney Stringer Primary! To date, they have set up a pen recycling system for all of our used pens, installed paper recycling bins into each room and kept the school garden free of litter.

Student Leadership Projects
New School Charity
Class council's first job of the year was to change our school's international charity. They came up with a range of different charities after asking their classes. Class council found the most popular ones and whittled them down to 6 which the entire school voted for on their ballot paper. After counting them up, they crowned Children in Need the victor. Their next task is to develop some fundraising ideas.
Pen Recycling
Our Eco Council have organised a pen recycling scheme for all of the pens that we are ready to dispose of.
The strategy was agreed at the meeting, and then shared with each class by the class reps.
So far, we have recycled over 7,000!
At our most recent meeting we handed over the used pens we have collected so far this term to Jackie from City College.
They recycle them through Bic who donate some money to a local Coventry charity as a thank you for recycling them.
Anti-Bullying Posters
We had a school-wide competition to design a school anti-bullying poster. Our School Council have chosen the winner! They have also supported the teachers in constructing a flyer for parents to share all the children's learning about anti bullying.
Joint Meeting
We held a joint Eco Council and School Council meeting to discuss our shared priorities for the school.
