All scientists start as primary school children who have teachers who believe they can fly high. We believe that every child can become a well-rounded scientist who has a good understanding of the chemistry, biology and physics and the world around them. Through our rigorous and detailed science curriculum, the children will achieve, understand and develop good disciplinary and conceptual knowledge of science. Our thematic approach to learning means that our science lessons complement our half termly topic, giving children the chance to use their subject-specific vocabulary and build on previous knowledge. 

For children to succeed in science, they will be encouraged to question, observe, analyse and see themselves as scientists.

Science is taught through a thematic approach. The objectives have been carefully been mapped out over the year groups to ensure children get a range of experiences, cover all aspects of the National Curriculum, and make strong, progressive connections in their learning.
