ABOUT LIBRARY
Sri Durga Malleswara Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala College which was established in the year 1983 encourages an ideal atmosphere in the library so that every student can utilize the abundant resources. At present the library stocks 49,686 volumes. The library has standard textbooks, reference books, rare books, Encyclopaedias, Dictionaries, and Yearbooks Books on career & personality development. More than 80 periodicals/magazines are subscribed to keep the users updated with the trends in the field. The library is equipped with a library automation system using NewgenLib open-source integrated library software (Core Engine version 3.2 – Helium) with Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC). The OPAC allows users to search for books and check their circulation history.

To provide facilities for all students, teaching, learning, educational, and research programmes of the Colleges.
By providing the latest knowledge to teachers in their field for effective teaching makes the transmission of knowledge possible.
To promote reading habits among students.
Rules & regulations
All the students/scholars and outsiders entering the Library shall keep their bags and other personal belongings at the entrance.
ID card should be compulsory for entering the library. Visitors will first scan their id cards at NGL Counter, before being allowed to Library.
Only notebooks and library books will be allowed inside. All the readers are advised not to leave their valuables at the Check Point. The library is not responsible for any loss of personal belongings.
Books removed from the shelves, if not required further, should be kept on the tables. Please do not try to shelve them yourself. Please remember that a book misplaced is a book lost.
Writing or underlining in books, periodicals, maps etc., is not allowed.
The newspaper should be folded properly after reading and kept back in the designated place.
Reference Documents like dictionaries, Encyclopaedias, Year Books, Journals (Loose & Bound), Project Reports, Census, and Handbooks will be issued overnight only.
The Library reserves the right to call back any issued book/item at any time.
Members should maintain discipline in the library. Eating, Sleeping, and group discussions are not allowed in the Library.
