Hi Lake Bluff! We took a trip down to the little building in December to check on our K4 students in Ms. Young’s class. We talked to some of the kiddos and observed their crew time. Here’s what we learned from talking to some of our K4 friends!
Graham says that his favorite center was the block center, or building because it is fun to play with! His favorite colors are red and blue, the Spidey colors! He doesn’t have any pets but he likes snakes. Also, Graham showed us the picture he drew of his family for open house!
Max says that his favorite center was the crystal trees, which was a holiday themed center with light up trees to play with. His favorite colors are all the colors of the rainbow! He has a cat and a dog at home. Max likes to paint rainbows and unicorns at home! He really likes rainbows, so he even painted one for his picture.
We also talked to Maddie, whose favorite center is the kitchen! Her favorite color is black and she really likes black cats, so she drew her own black cat!
Jackson gave us a little tour around the classroom. His favorite center was building blocks and his favorite color is gray. Jackson also told us about the kindness ninjas project, which is where they learned to do kind things without anybody knowing. Jackson also showed us their class pet, a mini tree named Tiny Tim.
Ella’s little brother Seamus told us his favorite center was Osmo, an interactive learning game! His favorite colors are all of the colors of the rainbow. He likes doing different jobs!
Arlo likes dramatic play, and playing with his friends and Connor enjoys playing with Legos.
Finally, we got to sit in on their crew time. The students are learning American Sign Language and are spelling each other’s names! They have a different pattern for every month of their calendar, and many different “toppers” (pointers) to show the days. Before we left, we listened as the kids recited their 4k promises and signed along to the words! We said goodbye to our friends and we hope to see them again soon!
