If you’re looking for good book recommendations, here is a good place to start. Recommendations from teachers, and students! If you want to find good books, or have a hard time finding good books, start here. Which recommendation do you trust: the teacher recommendation, or the student recommendation?
What is the best graphic novel you’ve read?
Mr. Pandya recommends Rose (grade 5) recommends
Bone by Jeff Smith White Bird, by R. J. Palacio
Why did you choose this book?
Mr. Pandya: Rose:
“Because it has funny characters “I chose this book
and an engaging story.” because it’s very
moving.”
I haven’t read Bone but now I want to! I took a peek into it and it’s really funny! There are these little bone people from a place called Boneville. It looks like they have a lot of fun adventures, and I’m excited to read it for real.
I have read White Bird, and I also think it’s a great book. It’s about a Jewish girl named Sarah in the middle of the Holocaust, and her amazing story. How she has to be hidden in a barn for about two years, and if she were ever to come out, it would immediately put her life at risk. How she loses some people she loves. Her experience. Everything. And I agree, it is moving.
Those are all the books for this week. Next time, the topic will be the best mystery books. See you then!
