A fire drill is a practice for a fire emergency.
At Lake Bluff how the teachers and students do fire drills is: when the alarm goes off we go into a single-file line out the front, back, and side door. When we are outside we’re supposed to stay quiet until our teachers hold up a green card to signal the all clear. If we left someone behind, the teachers will show a red card until the person is located in the building.
The fire alarm is loud and can be startling. If you get scared, try taking a few deep breaths.
