Timeline

Annually, each spring,, the AT Team screens students for eligibility into the program using multiple data points, including report card performance, NJSLA for rising grades 3-8 and the Sages-2 screening assessment for gifted students. All rising third grade students participate in the Sages 2 assessment in the spring of their second grade year. Rising fourth through eighth graders may be recommended by parents or teachers and will then participate in the Sages-2 assessment. Identification rubrics are used for final placement decisions.

Identification

Students are identified as academically talented by a variety of measures, including standardized test scores, SAGES and NJSLA (when available), progress report grades, teacher recommendation, parent/guardian recommendation, and student self-nomination. Parents that are interested in nominating their child should contact the principal.
