On April 29, the Islands will begin a two-week curriculum on Sexuality and Puberty Education. We will be facilitating and providing activities by Our Whole Lives (OWL), that are guided by the National Sex Education standards for 7-8 grade. This is vital content for young people, especially of this age group.

BIG PROJECTS BEGIN!
Your learner should have taken a moment to fill our the Exhibition survey to decide what BIG work they will be contributing to this spring. Come this Wednesday (2/7), we will be assigning Big Projects, so keep your ears open.
No SCHOOL - MLK DAY
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day will be an asynchronous day off this year. The day is a time to celebrate the achievements and contributions of Martin Luther King Jr. to the civil rights movement and his work toward achieving racial equality, and although we’ve done that in the building in years past, we think it is important to honor that this day is a day off to participate in community service, educational events, and activities that honor King's legacy. Here is a flyer with just a few of the many events that will take place in our area.
Going out trip dec 19th
On Tuesday, December 19th, parents are invited to drop off learners directly at Kevin Hammersmith Memorial Park between 9:00 AM and 9:30 AM for a day filled with outdoor activities. Lunch will be a picnic with pizzas, it will be $8 for a whole Little Caesar's pizza, we will also pair up learners who want half a pizza for $4. In the afternoon, we'll walk back to school for a delightful movie time. Parents can pick up learners at the usual carline time at school.

camping medication permissions
Be extra sure that your learner has their consent forms completed so that we can provide them with over-the-counter medicines and supplements, as well as their prescribed medications. The consent form is here. Please read the medication requirements carefully.
All medications and supplements must be in their original packaging.
Camping Consent forms
Your learners each received a Camp Piamingo form to fill out with a guardian and bring back. Ask your learner about their form if they will be attending the camping trip!

The Lost & Found is overflowing! Items will be set outside the main entrance mid-next week for parents to pick up. Check Monday's Cupola Notes for dates and times! Picture retake day is scheduled for October 19th. Picture packages/sample pictures were sent home with your learner last week. If your learner was unable to get their picture taken on the original picture day or would like a retake, please submit the form here so that we can make plans to support the picture retake day on October 19th. Families that are interested in placing an order for the picture package now may do so:

Camping Payment
Steps to log in and pay the fees:
Login to your Infinite Campus Parent Portal Account .
Navigate to "Fees" from the left side of the screen.
You will be able to see the fees assigned for your learner. This may include more than one bill if your teen is enrolled in more than 1 course.
Click on the option "Add to Cart" if you want to make full payments for all assigned fees.
If you are making partial payments between now and the due date, you can click on the dropdown next to "Add to Cart" and choose " Partial Amount".
Enter the amount you wish to pay.
When ready to pay, click on "My Cart" on the right side of the screen.
Complete entering the payment information, enter your email address to receive a receipt of payment and click
"Submit" at the bottom of the screen.
Please know that payments made through a bank account do not charge any service fee. Any payments made
using a debit or credit card will have a service charge added to the total amount paid.
Final day for Camping RSVPs
Over the past few weeks, we have sent out emails regarding our upcoming camping trip, and today (9/22) marks the final day for RSVPs. We wanted to send you this last reminder to ensure you don't miss out on this exciting adventure! If we do not receive your response by the end of today, your charge will remain.
CM Spiritwear!
This year, our family T-shirts will be printed on purple Bella + Canvas unisex Jersey Tee. Children/teens are encouraged to wear their school spirit when heading off campus. Proceeds from the sale of these shirts will support the many exciting things happening on campus, from beautifying outside spaces to creative studio endeavors - you can show school spirit AND support all the amazing things!
We will be taking orders through Friday, September 8th. Please write in the name and the studio of the learner where these t-shirts will be delivered. Recipient = learner's name.

We are so glad you are able to start (or restart) your learning experience in the Islands community! We are excited to meet you at your conference on August 3rd or 4th, and even more so to see you in person when we get started on Monday, August 7th at 9:00am. PLAY PROTOCOL FOR CARLINE
Please help keep all learners safe between pick-up carlines. If you have learners in more than one carline, and are ok with letting them play outside of your vehicle between pick-up lines, please make sure you are out of your car and engaged in their actions and monitoring their play. We appreciate your partnership in supporting this!
