HOW DO I BECOME A TAG STUDENT? In case you don't know, TAG stands for "Talented and Gifted" education. Students who are identified for TAG have usually been recommended by their teacher or by a parent as being in need of some type of accelerated curriculum. This begins an evaluation process involving testing, interviews, and gathering of other evidence of scholastic and/or creative ability. TAG services range from acceleration in a particular subject area to a higher grade, inclusion in a gifted classroom for a certain subject, whole grade acceleration, the ability to take online and college courses at a younger age, and opportunities for camps, mentors, and experiences for gifted students.
