A Friend in Me

  • Please make sure that you are working on Pathblazer or Moby Max for 20 minutes each day. In addition, you need to work on X-Tra Math fluency at least 3 times a week. Have I mentioned how important it is to be FLUENT with your multiplication facts?
  • Mrs. Blevins and I are cleaning out our classrooms this week. We'll be checking email but it may take longer for us to respond.
  • Having problems with Pathblazer? Math and ELA Pathblazer FAQ: Click on this link Math and ELA Pathblazer FAQ

  • WOW!!! I sure am missing all of you but I'm so thankful for all of the happy responses we received for our grateful poster! I'm finishing that up and will have a picture soon. I miss all of you so much and am praying that we will all be together soon! LOVE y'all!!
  • Note about Pathblazer Math: If a student doesn’t have a Grade Level Math Review Folder in Pathblazer that is because they met mastery on the initial assessment and no lessons were assigned. Therefore, your lessons are on MOBY MAX. Students should be spending 20 minutes a day on Moby Max or Pathblazer. This does not include the weekly checks in Moby Max.

      • 5. 5/12 < 3/5 because 5/12 is less than 1/2 and 3/5 is greater than 1/2
      • 6. <
      • 7. >
      • 8. >
      • 9. I will use 1/2 because both times are fractions between 0 and 1. The climb that takes less time is 5/12 minute.

      • 1. Ellie ran farther on Tuesday. The common denominator is 24. 5/6 = 20/24 and 7/8 = 21/24; 21/24 > 20/24 so 7/8 > 5/6

  • Updates to E-Learning (Copy of Blevins email)
  • Assignment for the Week of April 6- Parents, all assignments will be posted here and on Mrs. Blevins Google Classroom Reading. Since it is all on one page, we thought it would be easier for you to just have it in two locations. While it is not assigned, I would highly recommend doing X-Tra Math each day for fluency. Also remember that we have a Moby Max account and that is a fantastic tool to fill in the gaps. Again, that is optional.
  • Group Google Slide Show- this is optional of course, but we would love to hear from you.
  • On Tuesday, April 7th, Mystery Science will offer a live show. Doug is inviting students into his home for a LIVE, 20-minute science show. He’ll answer real kids’ questions about the current situation we’re all dealing with, as well as share a few fun surprises.

We will take up money and then have a few parents buy from the list the Angels filled out. In November the entire classes will meet one evening in the lunchroom for a pizza and wrapping party where we will wrap all the presents. This gives our students the chance to really be part of this wonderful activity.

We would like to go ahead and start taking up money for our Angels. We have two this year from the same family. One of our wonderful parents, Sally Dollar, has agreed to be in charge of the donations. You can go ahead and start sending in money. Please put it in an envelope with Sally's name on the front. Your child can give it to Anna and she will get it home. Please make all checks out to Sally Dollar. We are unable to collect donations like this through the school.

We are providing 30 minutes of uninterrupted time for students to receive instruction targeted to meet their specific learning needs in reading or math. It is possible that students will go to another teacher's classroom during this time. This is a great opportunity for students, and we are so excited to implement this initiative! In order to protect this instructional time, it is important that students are in the classroom and ready to learn by 7:50 each day. As always, thank you so much for your continued support. We are excited to continue our growth and help our students reach their learning goals!

Happy Thursday,
