Hi, my name is Ruth, and I recently joined the Sheffield BRC as the MND Project Coordinator. In my current role, I will support research capacity development and communications activity for EXPERTS-ALS, working closely with stakeholders to support research delivery and strengthen engagement and visibility across the Centre.
My academic background is in BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science, followed by an MRes in Cancer Biology, providing strong foundations in research methods, project planning and data analysis. Before stepping into my current role, I worked as a Clinical Trials Assistant (CTA), supporting the delivery of adult and paediatric research studies, maintaining essential documentation and contributing to participant-focused research activity.
I particularly loved the opportunities the CTA role gave me to work with communities, involve patients and the public, and help ensure more people had the opportunity to take part in clinical research. I am excited and ready for the next chapter in my clinical research journey as a Project Coordinator and look forward to contributing to impactful research within the BRC and beyond.
