About Me

Hi!

I am Tarfah Alrashid, a PhD candidate in Natural Language Processing group, Computer Science Department, University of Sheffield. I'm supervised by professor Robert Gaizauskas. I'm also a Teaching Assistant at University of Jeddah. I'm interested in natural language processing, specifically in information extraction from text, text segmentation, and text classification. My research focuses on the link between vision and language, I'm exploring how to find visual language in text and how to segment narrative texts into scenes.

From a young age, I’ve always had a dream to become a teacher, and sense of motivation and passion about science driving me forward. I love travelling, reading books, and recently riding a bike, sometimes I draw :) . To learn more about me, keep exploring my site or reach out directly.
