Harrison is a PhD researcher in the School of Chemical, Materials, and Biological Engineering at the University of Sheffield. He is supervised by Dr. Brant Walkley and is a part of the Sustainable Materials at Sheffield (SMASH) research group.
His research focuses on advancing understanding of the fluid-particle and particle-particle dynamics underpinning the use of limestone calcined clay cements, with an emphasis on their workability for nuclear waste disposal applications. This work aims to develop a low-carbon alternative for the encapsulation of problematic radioactive wastes. Harrison's research is funded by an EPSRC scholarship. Harrison obtained his master's degree in Chemical Engineering with Nuclear Technology at the University of Sheffield where he developed a passion for the disposal of nuclear waste and enabling more sustainable practices within the nuclear industry.Â
