Things to do while you're in Sheffield
Sheffield is right next to the Peak District National Park, which is famous for its views, hikes, caves, and villages. If you want to see caves, you should visit the village of Castleton - and if you want to try the original Bakewell Pudding, you should visit Bakewell! The stately Chatsworth House is another beautiful location to explore in the Peak District - and if you have the time, you could even book in an afternoon tea there.
If you would rather stay in the city, you could visit the Botanical Gardens, which include 18 different themed areas. If it's raining you might want to try the Winter Garden, which is an urban glasshouse with over 2,500 plants from across the world, and entry is free. It's attached to the Millennium Gallery, which always runs several exhibitions, which you can also view for free. Alternatively, if you want to learn more about the history (and pre-history!) of Sheffield, the Weston Park museum has a wide range of exhibits. Entry to the museum is also for free.
