Can you engage a general audience with your project and your presentation skills?

All Faculty of Engineering research staff and students are invited to submit an abstract for an oral presentation HERE.

There will be 3 presentations from each department, chosen by a panel, chosen to be included in the symposium.

Presentations will be for 4 minutes each, using a maximum of 4 slides (including open/closure slide if applicable).

There will be 1 winner from each department, chosen by the audience, who will compete against the other departmental winners in the afternoon.

The overall winner will receive £150 cash prize with £75 for the runner up.

Can you explain your project to a general audience of engineering researchers?

The top 5 from each department, chosen by a panel, will be displayed on the day.

There will be 1 chosen winner for each department who will win £20 Amazon voucher.

Each department winner will have the chance of being the overall winner on the day and receive a £150 cash prize.

Posters should be submitted as a PDF. If they make it to top 5 within departmental poster submissions, we will have them printed as A2 portrait style posters for display.

Research Cake Bake

Submissions open until 24th June

Got a flair for baking or just interested in making delicious things?

Register your entry HERE and bring your cake on the day.

There will be a specially printed apron for the winner.

Cakes will be cut up and sold during lunch and the afternoon coffee break in aid of Sheffield Flourish
