The MSc in Advanced Emergency Care (AEC) provides students with an opportunity to develop both their clinical and non-clinical skills in emergency medicine. It builds on ScHARR's international reputation for research in the field of pre-hospital and emergency care. Much of the teaching is delivered by members of the CURE research group, the foremost emergency medicine research group in the UK.
The course has been designed to appeal to both senior trainees and career grade doctors in emergency medicine as well as experienced staff from other backgrounds, such as senior nurse practitioners and experienced paramedics. It assumes a level of training and/or experience in Emergency Medicine: it does not provide candidates with a clinical specialist qualification.
