General Expectations

Please remember that today is counted as an instructional day. Therefore students should be engaging in instructional activities commensurate to what they would do on a typical in-person school day.

That being said, expectations for instructional time will differ depending on an individual's teaching assignment (e.g. elementary/secondary, grade-level, general ed/special ed, etc.). Teachers will need to communicate the day's schedule to their students (and families for younger students) before the actual e-learning day.

PK Lead Instructors

PK lead instructors will provide work for students to complete at home.
PK lead instructors will provide families with instructions on how they can be contacted if questions arise.
PK teachers may also use this time to connect with families regarding student progress.
From 9:30-10:30, please plan on meeting as a team.

Special Education PK Teachers

Special education PK teachers will provide work for students to complete at home.
Special education PK teachers will provide families with instructions on how they can be contacted if questions arise.
Special education PK teachers may also use this time to connect with families regarding student progress.

K-6 Grade Teachers

Assign work for students to complete.
- Remember, this is counted as an instructional day.
- Ideally, all work assigned to students should be completed and turned in by the end of the day, but due to internet availability, additional time may need to be provided for students to view and complete the work.
Provide instruction via Google Meet.
- Instruction should be in the area of ELA or MTH.
- Instruction can be organized for the whole class or in smaller groups.
- Record the instruction and share it with all students.
  - Remember, some students may need to access the recording at a later time due to internet availability.
- Make note of how many students actually join the Meet.

6th Grade Departmentalized Teachers

Assign work for students to complete.
- Remember, this is counted as an instructional day.
- Ideally, all work assigned to students should be completed and turned in by the end of the day, but due to internet availability, additional time may need to be provided for students to view and complete the work.
Provide instruction via Google Meet*.
- Instruction should be in the area of ELA or MTH.
- Instruction can be organized for the whole class or in smaller groups.
- Record the instruction and share it with all students.
  - Remember, some students may need to access the recording at a later time due to internet availability.
- Make note of how many students actually join the Meet.

* Since all of our 6th grade departmentalize teachers are currently working in pairs with each pair providing instruction in ELA/SOC ST or MTH/SCI, these pairs will need to work together so that students have the opportunity to connect with each teacher without conflict.

K-6 Grade Special Area Teachers

Special area teachers should provide an activity for students to engage in - that is, for the students that they would normally see on a Tuesday.
Special area teachers can also use this time to provide feedback to students on previous work.
Special area teachers can also plan future learning activities for students - especially focusing on activities that can be done virtually.

CCJHS Teachers

Assign work for students to complete.
- Remember, this is counted as an instructional day.
- Ideally, all work assigned to students should be completed and turned in by the end of the day, but due to internet availability, additional time may need to be provided for students to view and complete the work.
Provide instruction via Google Meet following this schedule.
- Instruction can be organized for the whole class or in smaller groups.
- Record the instruction and share it with all students via Google Classroom.
  - Remember, some students may need to access the recording at a later time due to internet availability.
- Be sure to share the schedule with students.

- Make note of how many students actually join the Meet.

CCHS and SCJSHS Teachers

Assign work for students to complete.
- Remember, this is counted as an instructional day.
- You should only assign work to the students that you would normally see on Tuesday.
- Ideally, all work assigned to students should be completed and turned in by the end of the day, but due to internet availability, you will need to accept work up until the end of SRT on Thursday, November 5. Teachers may extend this due date to the end of SRT on Friday, November 6.

K-12 Special Education Teachers

Special education teachers who co-teach with general education teachers will work collaboratively with them to plan, implement, and provide support for the e-learning day's assignments and Meets.
Special education teachers who have self-contained classrooms will provide assignments for their students to complete and may set up Meets with their students.
- - Be sure to check with general education teachers so that your Meets do not conflict with theirs.
