Social Studies Curriculum
Government
During the first trimester, students will be learning about civics and government. Students will learn all about our roles as citizens, the branches of government, and other important symbols/information about America.
Geography
In the first trimester, students will also learn about geography. We will focus on continents, oceans, equator, Prime Meridian, and four hemispheres.
Economics
In the second trimester, students will learn about economics. Students will explore the concepts of producers and consumers. We will also take a dive in to advertising and budgets.
-Money Quiz: counting money, comparing money, making change, and rounding to the nearest dollar
History
In the third trimester, students will learn about history. We will build an understanding of the development of the United States and how people, like Native Americans and Europeans, helped develop America.
