Welcome to Kindergarten!

Hello, my name is Mrs. Emily Lucas. This is my eleventh year of teaching and I am excited for all of the new learning that we will do each day. I am a graduate of Penn State Berks and love Penn State Football! In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband and my two year old son.

This year we will be using this site to communicate in and out of the classroom. In the classroom I will use this site to share information with students. For outside the classroom I will post information about events, important assignments and any creative and fun learning that is happening in the classroom.

Kindergarten is a pivotal year, students will learn to count, add, subtract and so much more in math. In reading they will learn to decode the world around them and will be really reading by the end of the year! In writing students will use letter and sound knowledge to develop skills to write full sentences. It is a year of growing and I am excited for the journey!
