Fabrication

Students learn fundamental welding techniques using different types of industry equipment. You'll develop skills in workplace safety, metal fabrication, design, service and repair using oxy-acetylene, electric arc, CNC plasma and power and hand tools.

What to Expect:

Metalworking is the craft and practice of working with metals to create parts or structures. Consequently, this craft covers a wide range of skills and entails the use of many types of tools and instruments. Fabrication 10 is an introductory course which covers basic hand tools and fabrication principles along with an introduction to Oxy-Acetylene, SMAW and GMAW welding processes. The goal of the Fabrication 10 program is to have students create an understanding of fabrication principles, oxy-acetylene welding operations, as well as electric welding operations.

Courses at the Introductory Level:

FAB1010 Fabrication Tools & Materials

FAB1040 Oxyacetylene Welding

FAB1048 Self-Automated/Automated Welding

FAB1050 (Basic Electric Welding)

FAB1100 (Fabrication Principles)

Possible Careers:

This fabrication program is designed to provide students the basic skills lending to potential careers or pathways related to becoming a welder, auto body technician, sheet metal mechanic, blacksmith
