Principal's Message

October 2018

The WMSS vision is to help each child develop their full potential while becoming creative producers and life-long learners. We will accomplish this through a commitment to excellence and collaboration among parents, staff, students, and the community.

Our mission is to educate today's students using scientific discovery and the implementation of technology to meet the challenges of tomorrow's world.

All BPS schools have a new website provider, Blackboard.

Edline is being phased out and information has already been sent home with the students. We will continue to keep you informed as we move towards a new gradebook format, "Focus," which will include classroom teacher webpages.

Parents asked, we answered:

What is the difference between Extended PE & Recess?

150 minutes of Physical Education(PE) is required each week for elementary students. These 150 minutes are a combination of PE with Mr. Siegal and Extended PE with your child’s teacher. Both of these are structured and Standards Based.

Recess is 20 minutes a day of supervised, unstructured free-play for grades K-5.
