Chris Stapleton
Releasing on November 13, Chris Stapleton’s fourth studio album, Starting Over, will be featuring fourteen fresh new songs that “exalt life's simplest pleasures while digging deeper into its gravest problems.”
On August 27, Stapleton released a little hint as to what the upcoming album will sound like with a single appropriately named Starting Over. In this song, Stapelton talks about how our daily lives have changed so much as a result of this pandemic and living in this time of unrest and uncertainty.
Lines such as “This might not be an easy time/there’s rivers to cross and hills to climb/Some days we might fall apart/and some nights might feel cold and dark,” really feel as though Stapelton, like the rest of us, is not so sure about what may and will come next as a result of this pandemic. However, Stapelton also holds compassion and confidence in his heart, along with his beautiful wife Morgane, who he has always held close to him. Lines such as “I can be your lucky penny/You can be my four-leaf clover,” really show just how much the couple care for each other, and how they have confidence that we will all come out of this difficult time with our heads held even higher than they were before.
