Originally released in 2006 to accompany the movie Curious George, Jack Johnson's Upside Down has returned to the limelight
Over the last few months, Jack Johnson’s “Upside Down,” which was released on February 24, 2006, has reappeared in the limelight This song has been everywhere on Tik Tok, especially when the song was used as a backing track to a recent viral video. Upside Down was written and released alongside the theatrical release of “Curious George.” Most people heard this song for the first time when watching this movie, which caused people on social media to brand the song as “The Curious George Song.”
And in Edgewood-specific news, the class of 2020 chose the song to represent their senior class. The seniors' choice of this song reflected its soothing and calming nature, especially important after a year like 2020.
While Upside Down may have been released 14 years ago, its soothing sound has returned to make 2020 that much calmer- and our Edgewood Class of 2020 will always remember the song that defined their senior year.
This is Jason’s third year here at Edgewood, starting out in 7th grade. This is his first year in magazine staff, though he has taken Journalism classes previously. He enjoys spending his time hanging out with friends and family.
