Kanye West's new album is a vibrant mix of themes and references
Famous Hip Hop artist and presidential candidate Kanye West's new single “Nah Nah Nah” was released on the 23rd. Nah Nah Nah was written by Kanye, DaBaby, and 2 Chainz. The song is pretty interesting if you take a second to think about what it means. The song includes multiple political references, likely due to Kanye's sudden dive into politics. In the song, he says “You are talkin’ to a presidential candidate.”
2 Chainz also mentions the subject of West's public mental health crisis earlier in the year, saying, "If one more person call me and ask me what’s wrong with Ye / That’s a grown man / I can’t tell him what he can and can’t say."
Also included in the new single are several references to the theory, popular with Kanye, that purports that life is a simulation. He has mentioned this theory in several previous songs, and has even written a philosophy book on the subject. The song contains many strange references, including to Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, The Last Jedi, and even Michael Jackson’s brother, Tito. While the song might sound strange, it’s very interesting overall and is definitely worth a couple of listens.
