Haley Mae Campbell explores her love of travelling and road tripping in new single
Contemporary and upcoming country artist Haley Mae Campbell’s new single “Highway Honey” came out on the 23rd of October. Highway Honey is about Campbell’s affinity for road tripping and traveling. The song includes a melody of relaxing acoustic guitar accompanied by Campbell’s soft vocals, which are as sweet as honey.
Campbell describes her having just enough money to get by. She “packed her bags and didn’t look back.” She had clearly been looking forward to this new chapter of her life. She rolled with the punches doing what she had to do to get by.
The song is about her moving straight to Nashville, nicknamed “The Music City.” Nashville has such a heavy influence on music likely because of its radio station WSM, made back in 1925. Many famous artists started in Nashville, such as Taylor Swift and Keith Urban, both of which became famous for their country music. Campbell explores her decision to move to Nashville, which may have been one of the most important ones of her life, because it kickstarted her music career. Campbell says it’s definitely one of her most, if not the most personal song she’s made, as it tells the story of her path to fame.
