Nectar

Hankering for some sweet new music? Joji’s got you covered this September with Nectar.

Coming off of his record-shattering debut album, Joji is granting us even more music with his second studio album, Nectar, releasing on September 25th. Featuring the likes of Omar Apollo, Lil Yachty, and Diplo, the album will contain 17 original songs, with a few of Joji’s recent single releases on the project, as well.

Run, Daylight, as well as Gimme Love were released over the past few months, and have played a huge role in garnering lots of hype and anticipation for the upcoming release. In fact, there is so much anticipation for the album that the official tracklist of the album has over 241,000 likes and nearly 580,000 views on Instagram.

In tandem with the track list, Joji, along with his label 88 Rising, released new official merch. Fitting in to the theming of the album, any 3 purchases of the new merch will be including a complimentary jar of honey.

The name Nectar actually comes from an experience that Joji had in an Airbnb, where he had an eventful encounter with a colony of ants.

“They had embarked on a suicide mission to get my Ben and Jerry’s, and all died in the freezer trying to get the bag,” Joji told TMRW Magazine. “As a joke, I kept saying, What would you do for that sweet, sweet nectar? But next thing I knew, I kept saying it to everyone. What is your nectar and what are you willing to do for it?”

If Nectar is anything like Ballads 1, this album is sure to go down as another record breaker in Joji’s catalog of impressive accomplishments.
