Christmas is coming early this year with Dolly Parton's upcoming album
Dolly Parton’s forty-seventh solo studio album, A Holly Dolly Christmas, is releasing on October 2nd. Her first holiday EP in 30 years, the album includes a variety of covers of Christmas classics, as well as a few of her original songs. Featuring the likes of fellow artists Micheal Bublé, Billy Ray Cyrus, and even Jimmy Fallon, Parton is sure to deliver you your Christmas spirits early this year.
Parton’s reasoning for releasing a Christmas album in the middle of Fall is actually a very sweet and thoughtful notion made by her.
“I figured since everybody probably wouldn’t get to celebrate Christmas as usual this year, I wanted to be creative instead of sitting around at the house this summer,” Parton said.
On August 21, Parton released her cover of Mary, Did You Know? from the album, and you can tell in every word she sings just how much care and emotion was poured into this cover, and the rest of the album as a whole.
“It’s the sweetest song about beautiful things being born out of unexpected situations and that’s a message we all need to hear now more than ever,” Parton said on her Instagram.
Featuring classic holiday songs, like Holly Jolly Christmas, All I want for Christmas Is You, I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus, and many more, Parton is sure to deliver us some positive feelings of joy and gratitude during these trying times.
"I'm just hoping that you're gonna love it as much as we loved putting it together,” said Parton. “So enjoy and merry Christmas!"
Coming from the Edgewood yearbook staff, Jacob Smith is looking forward to his first year in Magazine and to what the Magazine may hold in the future.
