Taylor's Fearless Reclaims iconic songs

Taylor Swift re-records six of her most famous songs along with several originals

Taylor Swift's Fearless, a mixture of new and old from a classic pop artist, was released on April 9, 2021. Much of the album is made up of re-recordings of songs from previous album Fearless, released 13 years ago in 2008, although it also includes six previously unreleased songs “from the vault” as well as the 2010 single Today Was a Fairytale. Three of these unreleased songs feature guest vocals from noted singers Colbie Caillat, Maren Morris, and Keith Urban.

It’s almost an obvious choice to revamp Fearless, considering it spent a total of 11 weeks atop the Billboard 200, went Diamond by selling 10 million copies, and won Swift a Grammy in 2010. Swift has plans to re-record her first 6 albums following ownership disputes over the original master recordings.

Swift's devoted fans love her code-like album promotions, and this one was no different. Promotion for this album, among teasers on a range of platforms, included messages hidden in a re-recorded version of Love Story released as a single before the album. Fans, as usual, read into this puzzle quickly and discovered the full list within a day of the single’s release.
