why you should watch Marvel's "What If"

Marvel has released a new TV series- and you should be watching it

November 4, 2021

In addition to big box office hits, Marvel has begun to break through into the television market. Shows like “WandaVision,” “Loki,” and “Falcon and the Winter Soldier” have prompted many fans and non-fans to pay for a Disney+ subscription solely to watch these shows. One of my favorite Marvel shows is Marvel’s latest television release. Marvel’s What If…? is interesting and enjoyable to watch because it includes colliding narratives throughout different scenarios and universes, introduces new and unique characters, and has an amazing storyline.

Marvel's What If...? is built around the idea of colliding narratives, where Marvel characters from different universes ultimately work together in order to stop the evil robot Ultron from destroying the multiverse. The multiverse is a series of different universes, in which the whole premise of the show is based, where new and unique stories are told that have not been seen in the movies.

The story takes place in multiple places in the Marvel universe, such as Earth, space, planet Morag, Wakanda, Asgard, and many more. Each episode reveals new characters that are similar to the ones in the original Marvel universe but different things happen to the alternate version of themselves that changes them into a completely different person. For example, in one universe, Peggy Carter ends up becoming Captain America instead of Steve Rogers. Another example can be seen in Doctor Strange’s character, who ends up becoming a monster in the process of trying to bring back his lost love.

Marvel’s What If…? includes many new variants of classic characters. One is Captain Carter, who became a superhero like Captain America. This happened because Steve Rogers was injured before he was supposed to become Captain America, which caused Peggy Carter to undergo the transformation instead.

She experiences the same hardships and adventures Steve Rogers had to face in the original Captain America movie. Then, even though he might not have become Captain America, Steve Rogers still wanted to help fight in the war. This motivation caused him to build an Iron Man-type suit called the Hydra Stomper, which allows him to help Captain Carter on her missions.

Another new character is the Black Panther as Starlord from Guardians of the Galaxy. His character overlaps in some ways with Chris Pratt’s Starlord, as he was also abducted by ravagers and was raised to steal valuable items across the galaxy. However, this new Star Lord as Black Panther does not meet Gamora, Rocket, Groot and Drax. Instead, he teams up with Thanos, Nebula, and other ravagers who help him in his adventures.

The next new character introduced is Supreme Strange, which is a Doctor Strange that became an extremely powerful and evil sorcerer. In this universe, Doctor Strange tries to resurrect the one he loves, which causes him to face grave consequences. Marvel’s What If…? also reveals Supreme Ultron, who is a version of Ultron in a universe where he killed all of the Avengers and became the most powerful being in the multiverse. Another new character is the Watcher, who narrates the story and has the ability to see everything that happens in the multiverse.

The main reason you should watch Marvel’s What If…? is because it contains intense suspense and drama. Each episode ends on a cliffhanger that leaves you wondering what will happen next. The whole show is an escape from the original Avengers timeline and the audience’s first introduction to the multiverse.

The entire plot is that the Watcher, who is a person who can see everything that happens in the multiverse, creates a band of heroes and villains around the multiverse to destroy an Ultron that is consumed with too much power. Eventually, their individual stories and characters come together in order to save the universe from being destroyed.

In conclusion, you should watch Marvel’s What If…? for the amazing colliding narratives, incredible characters, and stunning plot. And given how good the first season was, the future of What If...? is sure to be promising.
