Middle schoolers, get ready- an unforgettable dance is on the horizon
Middle-schoolers, are you ready for your first middle school dance? COVID-19 has slowed us down a bit, but we are catching up. It is the time of year for Edgewood’s middle school dance, put on by our middle school SGAs. They have put in much dedication and time to make this the most amazing dance yet! Get dressed, ladies and gentlemen, it’s time to have a good time!
Here is all the important information you need to know before the dance if you are interested in attending. The dance is on Saturday, February 25, 2022, from 6:30-8:30 PM. Tickets cost $15 per student and are on sale February 22, 23, and 24. They will be sold outside of the cafeteria. You can pay with cash or a check made out to Edgewood. You need to dress semi-formal, no shorts or t-shirts are allowed. Girls can wear a simple dress and for boys, wear a button-down shirt and some nice pants! Dress to impress, it’s only for one night so have fun with your outfit! Also, the theme is NEON! You don’t have to wear neon, but will be given glow-in the dark bracelets and necklaces. The dance will be held in the Edgewood Cafeteria.
The first priority of the SGA is to keep middle school students safe. With that in mind, COVID has had an effect on planning for the dance. While the COVID guidelines aren't extensive, the pandemic has changed the way food will be served. Unlike at previous dances, there will be no buffet-style food options. There will still be a variety of food, but what foods will be present- and how they will be served- is still not disclosed.
Are you questioning staying home because you are concerned about getting bored? Well, don’t worry! There are entertaining things prepared to keep the fun going. There will be a DJ to blast the evening off playing all the trendiest songs. There will be a few dances by the teachers and students to keep you entertained. Who knows- maybe faculty will even get in on the fun!
“I always take part in the dance!” said Ms. Karen Allred.
The SGA members have been working hard to make this dance special! They will be decorating and funding everything using their SGA bank. The SGA has decided on the decorations and there is a diversity of food and drinks that will be awaiting you!
“I feel like we are working pretty hard to get this dance together. We are trying our best,” 8th-grade class president Nabil Joshi, 8, said.
There's no doubt that that hard work will pay off. You can support the SGA and all they do by buying a ticket for the dance! With all the exciting things that are planned, you can make many amazing memories with all of your friends while having the time of your life!
