After opening its doors on October 1, 1971, Walt Disney World has brought in many visitors from all over the world. The beloved theme park will soon be celebrating its 50th anniversary, and has many exciting celebrations in store.
Beginning of Celebrations
Anniversary celebrations will begin in the park on its official opening anniversary, October 1, 2021. There will be many memorable experiences throughout The Most Magical Place on Earth. All of these celebrations will last for 18 months, so you will have plenty of time to check them out for yourself.
Where Will These Celebrations Take Place?
Celebrations will be occurring in all 4 of Disney's theme parks:. Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom will all be having unique celebrations of their own. In Magic Kingdom, Cinderella’s castle will be getting a makeover. It will be illuminating the park with its sparkling glow. Epcot will be introducing a new ride. It will be called Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, and is for any height and all ages. In Hollywood Studios, there will be additional special touches to Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. And last but definitely not least, Animal Kingdom is incorporating fireflies into their Tree of Life Awakening.

If you would like to join in on the fun, it’s never too early to start planning. For a one-day ticket, prices will start at $109.00 for ages 10+. That's just the basics, though. There are a variety of different packages you can choose from. If you have any questions while planning, or would like any help, you can always contact Academy Travel.
COVID-19 Requirements And Changes
Due to COVID, you will need to book a reservation in advance. There has been a new Disney Park Pass System put into place. This requires everyone in your party ages 3 and up to have a reservation to enter the park. By visiting Disney's website, you will be able to find the steps to take in order to book your reservations. Remember to stay safe, and have fun!
