Matisse Inspired Collage

Visual Art PreK - 2

This week is all about collage. You can use paper (or even junk mail) to create a beautiful collage. Another option is to paint your own paper (like Matisse) then use it as part of your collage.



Create Your Collage:

  1. Begin by creating cutting interesting shapes and colors from magazines (or even junk mail).

  2. Arrange and play with different compositions on another piece of paper.

  3. Glue your cut outs to your paper (like Matisse)

This week is all about collage. You can use magazine paper (or even junk mail) to create a beautiful torn paper collage.

Create a Torn Paper Collage

  1. Create your own torn paper collage! Options for materials:

    • Printed Paper: Junk Mail, Old Magazine

    • Painted Paper: Use watercolor, paint or even markers and water to create colored paper.
