Day-Of Details
With this venue change, please come dressed for class and leave your costumes in the car until class ends.
If you are in session one, use the band room as a dressing room between 11:30-12:30.
Awards for that session are 12:30-1:00pm.
We expect the dressing room (the cafeteria) to be ready by 12:30pm.
Please be patient with us as we will be flipping it from an already scheduled event. If we have to start a little later, we will do that rather than rush anyone. There is plenty of space in the lobby to do hair and makeup between the last class and the group competition.
Video and photography are not allowed; however, you may purchase your photos and videos for $25 per dancer at the registration table. The pictures will be delivered 5-7 days after the event. You cannot view them before purchase.
We do have a livestream, but please be mindful that its quality depends on the venue's internet connection. We are working on ways to bring our own Wi-Fi to help with this in the future. The password is GdX2026. Please do not share it on any social media or make it public!
GDX Stop The Show Buzzer, which a judge or director selects based on overall performance (not score). Once the dance ends, music will play, and all dancers will remain on stage. A GDX staff member will join them and ask a few questions about their dance
To ensure security and safety, access to the auditorium is restricted to friends and family of participating dancers; only one parent is permitted in the dressing room area.
Spectators attending the live event must present a Guide Pass for entry.
The Guide Pass serves as your complimentary admission ticket
Spectators must present the Guide Pass (either printed or digital) upon arrival to receive a wristband for re-entry throughout the weekend
Please note that every spectator must have this on their phone or a printed copy.
Programs are pre-ordered only. $10 per program
You can purchase a program by sending payment via Venmo, commenting "GDX-program" and "SDA" before February 22nd. The Venmo QR code is below
Award Presentation:
Dancers are required to attend any awards ceremony that includes their routines
Black leggings with Press Play Company tanks with tennis shoes or bare feet (SDA Jackets or Wind Jackets may be worn as well)
No jeans, gum, food, or cell phones are allowed on stage during the awards
Dancers should be engaged and aware of the announcer during the awards
Team captains are given out by each routine teacher. The team captain receives their award from the announcer. If an overall or special award is given for a routine, the team captain will stand up to receive this award at the front of the stage. They are expected to stand in the fifth position, facing outward, and smiling
Team captains are NOT to pass out pins on stage. All awards and pins need to be brought to the studio during rehearsals. Teachers will pass out pins.
We expect our dancers to always maintain a grateful attitude during competition and for the duration of awards ceremonies. This includes clapping/cheering for everyone on their team and the other teams on the stage. Any negative remarks, disappointed faces, or fit-throwing of any sort will NOT be tolerated.
